North Road
North Road is a road through the Two Rivers, running south from Baerlon to Emond's Field, by way of Taren Ferry and Watch Hill. It meets the Caemlyn Road, the Old Road and the Quarry Road.

Strangers arrive in the village
Strangers come for the festival: a lady called Moiraine and her silent companion, Lan. She gives Rand and Mat a coin each and asks about the village, and Mat has seen the black rider too.
The village after the night's attack
Rand carries Tam to Emond's Field and finds the village half burned by its own attack that night. When the Wisdom cannot help Tam, Rand turns to Moiraine.
Across the Taren
Fleeing the Two Rivers by night, the group crosses the Taren on the ferry. Moiraine sinks the ferry and draws fog over the river behind them, and tells Egwene she could learn to channel.
